Sheffield Wednesday and Everton confirmed yesterday that the Irishman would join the Owls on loan until the end of the season.
The winger has made only one appearance this season against Barnsley in the Capital One Cup and has seen him fall down the pecking order at Everton. Gerard Deulofeu, Kevin Mirallas, Aaron Lennon, all able to play on the right wing.

Roberto Martinez has explained that he hopes that McGeady will benefit from regular game time in the Sky Bet Championship in preparation for the Euro 2016 Championships.
Everton also recruited Oumar Niasse who can play on the wing, which left the squad too crowded with talent on the flanks, meaning McGeady was the player to be sacrificed.
Sheffield Wednesday winger Ross Wallace who played with Aiden McGeady at Celtic took to twitter to express his happiness at the transfer

The Owls manager Carlos Carvalhal spoke about his signing of Aiden McGeady and he seems very happy with his new acquisition. He said:
I’m very happy because first of all, we only want to bring in players if they can improve the team.
He is a player that adds extra quality and a player I know very, very well because when he played at Celtic, I was coach of Sporting and I tried to bring him to the club but it was not possible at that moment. I am happy because he is a player that can improve the team and he will help us in the second part of the season, absolutely sure.
It remains unseen if Aiden will return to the club and given a chance in pre-season for the 2016/17 season, with Roberto Martinez hinting that he will return to the club after Euro 2016.
