According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is looking to see out his current deal with the club amid a lot of interest from other clubs, including Everton.
Rooney’s future with United has come under increased scrutiny in the last couple of months, with manager Jose Mourinho opting to drop him to the bench on a number of occasions throughout the course of the season so far.
The 31-year-old is claimed to be on a whopping £230,000 per week on his current deal at Old Trafford, so he’d have had to have taken a massive pay cut if he was to join Everton anytime soon.
Rooney’s contract expires in the summer of 2019, so it looks as though if Everton and a host of other clubs are looking to pursue their interest in Rooney, they will need to be patient or come in with an irrefutable offer to United.
