The midfielder is another player off the conveyer belt of talent that is the Toffees youth system and after featuring heavily during the off-season it is likely that Davies will play some part of next season.

Callum Connolly and Conor Grant have already signed new deals as Everton look to secure the long-term future of their talented youth players.

Tom is expected to be a part of the squad that will face Manchester United on Wednesday for Wayne Rooney’s testimonial before signing the new deal towards the end of the week.

It is looking increasingly likely that this will be an important week for the club not just for Davies, with officials looking to complete deals for transfer targets by the end of the week. Axel Witsel, William Carvalho and Idrissa Gueye have all been mooted as midfield targets.
