Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong, with the 19-year-old attracting further interest after establishing himself in David Moyes’ first team.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are receiving regular scouting reports on Armstrong, who has started all nine of Everton’s Premier League matches this season. The midfielder remained at the Hill Dickinson despite Nottingham Forest’s attempts to sign him during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea keeping tabs on Armstrong

Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips says Armstrong is one of four young midfielders being watched by the London club. Newcastle United’s Lewis Miley, Fulham’s Josh King and Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly are also on the list.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Phillips said Chelsea were compiling weekly reports on the players. He described Armstrong as a young midfielder who was playing regularly for Everton and attracting attention from several clubs. But there is no suggestion Chelsea have made an offer or opened talks with Everton over a possible transfer.

Armstrong was the subject of considerable interest towards the end of the summer window, when Nottingham Forest pursued a deal reportedly worth £40m. Everton ultimately kept the academy graduate, whose potential departure had prompted a strong reaction from supporters.

Since then, Armstrong has continued to feature regularly under Moyes, starting every Premier League match and helping Everton climb to seventh in the table. The midfielder, who is under contract until June 2028, has become an important member of the squad after progressing through the club’s academy.

Chelsea’s interest comes at a time when Armstrong is gaining regular Premier League experience, although scouting a player is some distance from making a formal approach.

For Everton, the immediate priority will be his continued development as Moyes’ side prepare to face Coventry City at the Hill Dickinson on Friday.
