Everton are reportedly considering a move for promising Basel striker Breel Embolo in case of a move away from Goodison Park for their main striker, Romelu Lukaku.
The 18-year-old has been in fine form this season for the Swiss giants, scoring eight goals already and becoming a regular figure in the Switzerland international side.
As a result of Embolo’s impressive displays for both club and country, it is no surprise to see that Premier League clubs are taking an interest in the promising youngster, with Everton seemingly leading the chase.
A move for the powerful striker could be seen as a potential long-term replacement for Romelu Lukaku in case of any move for the Belgian due to his superb league form this season, or as another striking option to partner with Lukaku for the second part of this season.
However, Everton are aware that the signing of Embolo would not be a cheap one. With the Swiss forward’s excellent league form and undeniable potential shining through as of late, the reported asking price for Embolo’s services could be up to £18 million; a hefty price for someone at such a young age.
