According to Football Italia who city Sky Sports Italia as their source, Everton have today had a €25m bid rejected for Croatian international Nikola Kalinic, as the Florence-based outfit are holding out for a fee closer to €35m for the highly rated Striker.
Ronald Koeman has been open in his pursuit of a new striker after admitting that 13.5m flop Oumar Niasse has no future with the club and says he would like 5 new players by the end of the window. With Yannick Bolasie’s move looking like a certainty from Palace for £30m, Koeman is looking again to spend big for players to kick off his new era at Everton.
Nikola Kalinic has already tried to prove his worth in the Premier League for Blackburn Rovers in 2009 but struggled in Britain scoring only 7 goals in 2 seasons as Blackburn fought with relegation throughout the year. He fell out of favour with Steve Kean and was sold to FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk of Ukraine where his form picked up and had his second try in the top leagues as he signed for Fiorentina in 2015, where he went on to score 12 goals in 36 games in his first season.
