Williams admits to Crisis Talks

Ashley Williams, quoted by the Express, has admitted that Crisis talks will be held this week to address the horrible blip in form since the loss to Norwich in the EFL cup.

Williams said “It’s frustrating for all of us” after another 2 points were dropped against struggling Swansea. Williams also added that the apparent inconsistency in the Everton side needs to be sorted before it takes root in what could be a positive season.

We are trying our best but for whatever reason this [inconsistency] is happening. This week we will speak a bit more about that because I feel it is definitely something we need to work on in the 90 minutes and from game to game.

Having only six points is not down to the manager it’s down to us, the players.

All of the boys like the manager and the way he’s training us is very good. So it is down to us to perform and get the results.

Everton came away from the game after Séamus Coleman netted a late equaliser, but it was no consolation for most fans after a fantastic opportunity wasn’t pounced on, and it is the story of many games this season where long periods of Everton pressure are wasted due to sub-par conversion and indecisiveness around the 18 yard box. And frankly, there has been an evident difference in each half’s display in most games so far, and hopefully, this will be addressed in the talks this week.

These talks will have to generate an instant response as Everton’s games don’t get any easier, with Ronald Koeman’s old side Southampton up next at St Mary’s, followed by Manchester United, Watford, Arsenal and the last game before Christmas, a Monday-night Derby against Liverpool at Goodison.
